Join our team


The fundraising coordinator’s mission is to develop, coordinate and monitor SOS Children’s Villages fundraising sources and meet funding targets by assisting in developing fundraising strategy and activities, in addition to collaborating with the communication and IPD departments on cultivating partnerships and promoting SOS brand image via public relations and publicity actions.

Main tasks

- Assist in developing fundraising strategy, including conducting donor mapping, fundraising opportunities and suggesting new actions and initiatives.

- Creating and maintaining a database of potential, current and past donors including individual donors, association lists, corporate donors…

- Prepare presentations to communicate fundraising program data and engage in direct communication with potential national and regional donors building on the reputation and expertise of the organization.

- Develop solid regular relations with donors including both public and private sectors and establish a sustainable funding base, which take into consideration company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and market interests and match these with areas of work at the association.

- Establish KPI tracking for annual revenues and secure both in-kind and monetary funds.

- Coordinate the different fundraising actions including villages/individual sponsorships, promotional units, face-to-face, on-line and volunteering initiatives.

- Liaise with HR and supervise the work of any additional needs in human resources for fundraising activities and resource mobilization. 

- Collaborate with the communication and IPD department in raising awareness of the organization’s work and developing organization’s visibility, communication and on-line presence, in addition to building relations with other organizations.

- Coordinate with IPD department on donor relations.

- Planning, monitoring and execution of events that would serve the fundraising within the organization or have on-site revenue generation.

- Monitor budgets and expenses reports.

- Attend community events, meetings, or conferences to raise organization’s profile through networking at appropriate events, promote organizational goals or solicit donations or sponsorships.

- Secure speakers for charitable events, community meetings, or conferences to increase awareness.

- Liaise with programmes units to strengthen programme visibility to donors through field visits and show case innovative projects, invitations to campaigns and other programme events.

1- University degree ideally in marketing and sales, business administration or social science.
2- Proven track record of at least 3-5 years in fundraising or similar profession in a leading position.
3- Experience in the use of online marketing, use of social media as part of a fully integrated FR approach.
4- Experience and competence in dealing with managing income and expenditure budgets.
5- Efficient in time and resource management.
6- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills both local language and English.
7- Good working knowledge and use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Lync).
8- Experience with high‐level negotiations and management of partners and service providers.
